Thanet road smash driver 'three times over limit' for drink and tests positive for cocaine

A motorist, whose roadside breath test was more than three times over the legal limit, has been arrested after writing off his car in an horrific smash.

Both the driver and their passenger miraculously walked away with "little to no injuries".

Police tweeted a photo of the wreckage. It added: "This is what happens when you drive under the influence of drink/drugs.

"[The] driver blew 109 roadside and drug wipe was positive for cocaine."

That's three times the legal drink-drive limit which is 35 micrograms per 100 millilitres.

The tweet added: "[The] driver was arrested, blood taken and interviewed. [They have been] bailed waiting for the result of the blood test."

Police have been asked for the precise location of the crash.
