Police helicopter called to find missing woman in Birchington

A woman has been taken to hospital after she was found in Birchington.

The police helicopter, which covers Kent and Essex, was called to help with the search this morning before finding her at 2.30pm.

Minnis Bay Fish and Chips owner Harry Hayer said: "I definitely saw it circling over the roundabout in Birchington at 10am so it was here a long time."

Police spokesman James Walker said: "Officers conducted a search for the missing woman and with the assistance of the police helicopter she was located alive in Birchington at 2.30pm."
