The latest stage of Nigel Farage’s South Thanet election campaign took off at Manston today.

Nigel Farage and Ukip campaigners with the Save Manston poster truck.

The Ukip leader was joined by North Thanet candidate Piers Wauchope and council candidate Chris Wells at the launch of poster truck campaign pledging his support to get Manston Airport up and running again.

Speaking at the launch which took place outside Summit Aviation, Mr Farage said: “Ukip’s commitment to Manston is unquestionable, unshakeable, and long-standing.

“The other parties seem to be jumping on the bandwagon, making half-hearted, long-grass promises, when in reality everyone in Thanet knows they’ve actually caused this massive local problem.

“I would urge residents to think carefully about both their parliamentary and council votes on May 7th, and take heed of the fact that only Ukip is promising an immediate compulsory purchase order for the site, to get our airport back!”
