A motorcyclist and his pillion passenger were injured and taken to hospital today after their Kawasaki was in collision with a car at St Nicholas-at-Wade.

The passenger, in his 30s, is understood to have been thrown up to 10 metres from the bike.

The Ford Fiesta driver was understood not to have been hurt.

The air ambulance from Redhill landed and the crew helped at the scene as the more local Marden-based air ambulance was attending a serious crash on the M2 near Faversham.

A land ambulance took the injured pair to the William Harvey Hospital, Ashford.

Traffic to St Nicholas was diverted. Kent Police are investigating the collision.
