Police chase ends as car smashes into parked van in Crescent Road, Ramsgate and Margate man arrested

A police chase ended in dramatic fashion when a car smashed into a parked van in Ramsgate.

A man from Margate was arrested on suspicion of intending to supply cannabis, theft of a car, driving offences and possession of an offensive weapon.

The incident which happened at 5.25pm last night, left debris all over Crescent Road.

The vehicle was involved in a short police pursuit

Police spokesman Scarlet Jones said: "There was a short police pursuit after the vehicle failed to stop when requested to do so.

"The vehicle was involved in a collision with a parked vehicle before coming to a stop a short while later in Crescent Road.

" A 20-year-old man from Margate was arrested and currently remains in custody."

The driver hit a parked car on Crescent Road

Witnesses say there were two men in the vehicle, one was put in handcuffs while paramedics put a neck brace on the other.

A tow truck then arrived on the scene to remove the car.
