Margate: Police called to Dane Hill Row after man and woman entered an insecure building

Police were called to an empty building in the early hours of this morning after a man and a woman had got in.

The couple went on the roof when police arrived and were told by officers to come down.

But the pair refused to come down for hours, meaning police didn't leave the scene until around 5am.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 12.30am on Tuesday 15 August 2017 regarding a report that a man and woman had entered an insecure empty building in Dane Hill Row, Margate.

"Police officers went to the scene where the two people had gained access to a roof area. They came down from the roof and left the building at the request of officers.

"At this stage no criminal offences have been disclosed and enquiries are on-going into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

"The incident was concluded at about 5am."
