Power cut in Broadstairs leaves 850 homes without electricity, says UK power Network.

A power cut affecting more than 800 homes is expected to be fixed this afternoon, energy bosses have said.

A fault on an underground cable left 850 houses with no electricity in Broadstairs this morning.

Properties in the CT10 postcode lost power at 10:13 this morning – it has since been restored.

UK Power Networks has said on its website: “We became aware of this power cut at 10:13.

“We’re sorry for any disruption this may have caused you.

“We believe the issue is an underground cable fault that initially interrupted power to 3099 properties.

“However, we have managed to divert power back to some properties, so 850 properties are still affected.”

Engineers carried out work and electricity was restored to the last homes at 1.06pm.
