Pair arrested after Margate street fight with samurai sword and garden fork

Two men have been arrested after a Margate street fight involving a samurai sword and a garden fork.

Police were called to a disturbance in Athelstan Road at about 4pm on Friday, August 16.

Around 50 people were in the street as two men - one armed with the large blade and the other with the garden tool - fought.

Officers are today appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Two Margate men, aged 39 and 31, have been arrested on suspicion of affray and released on police bail until Monday, September 16 pending further inquiries.
