Huge emergency services presence in Westbrook after welfare concerns for woman

Emergency services were called to a seafront following concerns for a woman’s welfare.

Police received a report of a distressed person from the Margate area yesterday morning shortly before 11.30am.

Social media users reported seeing a huge emergency services presence at Barnes car park and the area was cordoned off.

A police spokesman said: “Officers located the woman near Westbrook Promenade and she was taken to a place of safety.”
