Ramsgate shop worker shot in the neck during High Street raid

Witnesses are being sought by police after a shop worker was shot in the neck during an attempted robbery.

Armed police were called to the High Street in Ramsgate yesterday afternoon following reports of raiders with weapons.

It is reported that two men assaulted a member of staff at a shop before leaving the scene but nothing was stolen.

The member of staff, a man in his 20s, was taken to a local hospital with a neck injury, which is suspected to be from a pellet fired from an air weapon.

A 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of robbery and both remain in custody.
