Margate: Chakile Gonladieu appears in court charged with knife and drug offences

A 19-year-old man has appeared in court charged with knife and drugs offences in Thanet.

The charge relates to illegal drug-related activity seen yesterday morning by police on patrol in Millmead Road, Margate.

Officers seized wraps of suspected crack cocaine and heroin, a large Bowie sheath knife, £1,645 in cash and a mobile phone.

Homeless Chakile Gonladieu was charged today with possession of a knife in a public place, and two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

He appeared via virtual court where he pleaded guilty to all charges and was remanded in custody.

The case has been adjourned to Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, February 2 for sentencing.
