Dover man Richard Stent appears in court after Margate Tesco Express fire

A man has appeared in court accused of starting a fire at a supermarket and causing danger to life.

Richard Stent was brought before Canterbury Crown Court following the blaze at Tesco Express in Margate.

Flames were reported at the convenience store in Canterbury Road at 6am on March 13.

Stent, 32, of Granville Street in Dover, is charged with one count of arson with intent to endanger life.

Judge Rupert Lowe remanded Stent in custody until his provisional trial date at the same court on August 20.

Stent is represented by Gregory Fishwick and is expected to be prosecuted by Martin Yale.
