A Tornado jet made an emergency landing at Manston Airport after a ‘bad multiple birdstrike’.

The incident, which has been confirmed by the airport and RAF Marham where the Tornado is based, was reported on Twitter by a crew member.

Jez Holmes @BossIIACSqn reported they had been “very well looked after” at the airport.

The officer’s Twitter description is Officer Commanding II(Army Cooperation) Squadron flying Tornado GR4 from RAF Marham - ‘Shiny Two’.

He tweeted “being very well looked after by Manston Airport after an unexpected stopover” which he then attributed to being the result of “quite a bad multiple birdstrike”.
