Suspected Thanet burglars charged after reported raid at Broadstairs Co-op

Three man have been charged after shops and homes were reportedly raided in Thanet.

Sam Crew, aged 25 and of Arlington Crescent in Margate; 24-year-old Ryan Fountain of no fixed address; and Marc Reed, aged 33 and of no fixed address, were all charged with conspiring to steal from a number of people between June 24 and July 16.

Their arrests relate to a total of 19 offences, including burglaries at businesses and homes, as well as car thefts.

The reports include the reported theft of a van from Kingfisher Close in Margate on July 8, and alleged burglaries on July 15 at the Co-op store in Hopeville Road in Broadstairs where cigarettes were stolen, and a at farm shop in Birchington where cash was swiped.

All three men appeared at Margate Magistrates' Court yesterday (July 18), where they were remanded in custody.

They will next appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, August 19.
