Margate: Woman to appear in court after Vince Marsh hit by car in College Road

A suspected drink-driver is to appear in court after a postman suffered serious injuries in a collision.

Police were called to College Road, Margate, on January 6 after Vince Marsh, of Birchington, was hit by a car while out on his delivery rounds.

The 59-year-old was airlifted to King's College Hospital, London, with a head injury and a fractured eye socket.

He also suffered four broken ribs, bruising and cuts all over, as well as a broken leg and shattered knee cap.

A 43-year-old woman from Margate was arrested but was released pending further inquiries.

She is now to appear in court facing charges of driving while unfit through alcohol, failing to stop after a collision, and failing to provide a specimen of breath when required to do so.

The hearing will be at Margate Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, July 10.
