AN ELDERLY woman who died after being pulled from the sea off Margate last month has been identified. She was Marguerite Cahan, 84, of Canterbury Road, Westgate, near Margate.

She was rescued on Saturday, December 29, by a paramedic who dived into the water in his underwear to drag her out. She died the next day in hospital at Margate.

The coroner has been informed and an inquest will be held.
