Mystery driver helps woman punched in head and stamped on in Ramsgate

A woman was punched in the head and stamped on in attack in Ramsgate last night.

The 34-year-old was left with a bruised and swollen face as well as cuts to the back of her head.

Kent Police said she is believed to have been seriously assaulted by a man she knew in Whitehall Road at about 10.20pm.

A mystery woman, driving a black Kia Sedona, stopped and took the victim home.

The injured woman declined hospital treatment.

A 36-year-old Ramsgate man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and remains in police custody.

The driver who helped the woman or anyone with information is asked to phone DC Lynne Short at Kent Police on 01843 222069 or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
