Margate moved back to the top of the Ryman Premier Division after a 1-0 win against Leatherhead.

Lewis Taylor's 30th-minute stunning strike was the only goal of the game and secured all three points to send Gate a point clear of Maidstone, who were in FA Cup action - beating Vanarama Conference side Welling 2-1.

Leatherhead should have taken the lead six minutes earlier, but Ryan Cooper fired over the bar from their first real attack of the match.

Luke Moore also missed the target at the other end from a good position, before Taylor struck what turned out to be the winner.

In the second half, Moore and Taylor saw shots blocked, while Luke Williams and Ryan Moss both saw efforts saved by Leatherhead keeper Louis Wells as Gate pushed for a second.
