A teenager has claimed another national title - while one of his club-mates also won silver.

Bailey Giles, of PEJ ABC Margate, came out on top in the first National Association of Boys and Girls’ Clubs Championships since the Covid pandemic after his opponent withdrew from the final.

So a third-round stoppage win over West Ham’s George Ives in his semi-final saw the 15-year-old take the No.1 spot.

It comes after Giles won in the England Boxing National Development Championships earlier this year.

Michael Chipps, meanwhile, took silver, losing his final to two-time national champion Abdul Rahman Burton from Longsight Boxing Club in Manchester.

The 17-year-old had previously beaten the Welsh champion by a unanimous points decision in his semi-final at the event held in Bridlington, Yorkshire, over the weekend of December 10-11.

Blake Binskin, 20, won a regional title as he avenged a previous loss to national junior champion Tom Browning from Billericay.

PEJ ABC’s Hadley Binskin, 16, claimed the Southern Counties title by a unanimous points decision.
