Trains between Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells and Hastings affected after train hits deer

Train services in part of the county are facing disruption after a train hit a deer.

Commuters travelling between Tonbridge and Hastings are being told to expect at least an hour of delays.

It comes after a deer was hit by a train at Frant in East Sussex, which is close to Tunbridge Wells.

A Southeastern spokesman said: "An obstruction on the track at Frant means train services running through this station may be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.

"Disruption is expected until 11pm.

"Response staff are en-route and are due on site at around 8.30pm. The affected train will be unable to move until response staff have assessed it.

Hastings line trains are unable to from Hastings to Tunbridge Wells until at least 8.45pm.

Affected travellers can use their tickets on Arriva bus route 7 between Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge at no extra charge.
