The teenager who drowned after jumping into the River Medway has been named as 15-year-old Glen Wilson.

He would have turned 16 next Thursday.

Glen, of Albert Road, Tonbridge, was seen having difficulty swimming after jumping into the water near Tonbridge Castle early last Sunday morning.

His body was recovered by divers later that day.

His parents, Ken and Carol Wilson have described their son as: "a loving and caring teenager who was looking forward to moving on to a new phase in his life."

Despite struggling with dyslexia, Glenn had recently achieved a City and Guilds qualification in carpentry and was about to begin a course in plumbing, whilst going work experience with a local school caretaker.

An inquest has been opened and adjourned.
