Maidstone man released from custody after Paddock Wood alleged assault at Bells Fish Bar in Maidstone Road

A man has been issued with a penalty notice after a disturbance in a chip shop.

Police were called at 5.29pm to reports of an assault at Bells Fish Bar, in Paddock Wood's Maidstone Road, yesterday.

Officers arrested a 32-year-old man from Maidstone in connection with the alleged attack.

The victim, who suffered a minor head injury, did not want to continue with police proceedings and the man has now been released from custody.

He has been issued with a penalty notice for being drunk and disorderly and a £90 fine.
