Huge cannabis seizure after car stopped in Tonbridge

Cannabis with an estimated street value of more than £1,000 was seized from a car stopped in Tonbridge.

Five mobile phones and other drug paraphernalia was also found in a silver Volkswagen Golf, including a set of digital scales and a vacuum-packing device, during the stop in Quary Hill yesterday.

A 38-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class B drug.

He was later released from custody pending further enquiries.

Sergeant Ashley Boxall of the Tonbridge Community Safety Unit said: "Kent Police takes a zero tolerance approach to anyone suspected of supplying drugs and is committed to keeping harmful substances off our streets.
