AN ELDERLY man is in hospital with serious head injuries following a road accident in Tonbridge high street.

The 84-year-old pedestrian was in collision with a maroon Vauxhall Astra near the junction with Bradford Street at around 1.40pm yesterday.

The man was taken to Kent and Sussex Hospital at Tunbridge wells where his condition is described as "serious". The driver of the car was unhurt.
