A large pothole and an accident caused long delays on a busy road this morning.

One lane of the A21 Sevenoaks by-pass was shut southbound near the A225/B2545/Morley's Road exit until 12.30pm.

Police were called to the carriageway near Tonbridge just before 8.30am to reports of a hole which was causing a hazard to motorists.

The road has been closed. Stock picture.

It's understood to have caused damage to three or four vehicles.

Kent Highways has since tweeted to say the pothole has been repaired and the road re-opened.
