The lights went out at Tonbridge train station this morning, leaving commuters without information on their journey.

Between 7.30am and 8.30am no electronic screens with journey times were working and customers were also unable to buy tickets from automatic machines.

Commuters took to Twitter to complain about their problems.

Andrew Embling tweeted: "Power outage at Tonbridge station this morning. No announcements so it's a case of pot luck to try and get the right train!"

Jay Manser added: "Tonbridge station has lost all its power. It's dark everywhere."

Despite the problems there were no delays to Southeastern services.

A spokesman from the company said: "There was no impact on services because it happened during daylight hours,

"Obviously because of the power failure the screens running information went down as did a ticket vending machine so we couldn't sell tickets for that part."
