Tonbridge: Raccoon seen travelling on scooter, spotted in Sevenoaks in the past

By: Annabel Rusbridge-Thomas

You might do a double take, but you saw right the first time - a raccoon has been spotted travelling around Tonbridge on a scooter.

The black-and-white striped mammal was captured whizzing around on the pink toy in one of the Angel Centre link-ways to the High Street yesterday.

We can reveal the creature, videoed having a whale of a time, is actually a bit of a TV star.

The multi-talented Melanie Raccoon

Three-year-old Melanie Raccoon - who can clap, dance and ring a bell - got the big red buzzer from the Britain's Got Talent judges when she auditioned in 2013.

But the experience has not deterred the Kent-based pet, who now faces the prospect of starring in her own show after being "talent spotted" by TV producer John Gubba.

It comes just days after a Batman wannabe was spotted patrolling the streets of Tunbridge Wells on a unicycle.

Police officers were seen speaking to the Caped Crusader in Pembury Road but confirmed they stopped him just out of pure curiosity.
