The jury in the £53 million Securitas robbery trial of Paul Allen have been discharged after failing to reach a verdict.

Paul Allen, 30, of Chatham, Kent pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to kidnap and conspiracy to possess a firearm.

The trial began on October 6, 2008, at the Old Bailey in London and the jury have been out considering their verdict since December 18.

A hearing will be held at the Old Bailey on Tuesday 13 January where a date for a retrial will be discussed. Allen has today been remanded in custody.
