Harry Watson's family thank police and medics after teen seriously injured in Tonbridge crash

The family of a 17-year-old boy who suffered life-changing injuries in a serious crash have thanked the emergency services for their efforts.

Harry Watson was flown to a London Hospital by air ambulance on Friday at around 4am after the silver Renault Twingo he was travelling in rolled across a grass verge and onto a footpath on Hadlow Road, Tonbridge.

He remains in hospital in critical care but in a stable condition after the crash, which left the road sealed off between The Ridgeway and Higham Lane.

Police officers arrested a 17-year-old boy from Tunbridge Wells at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He was released on bail pending further inquiries until Friday, May 17.

Harry's family said: "In response to the accident that took place on Friday, April 19, on Hadlow Road, involving Harry Watson, the family would like to thank all of the the emergency services that tended to Harry at the scene; police, paramedics, air ambulance and now to the hospital team that are taking care of him.

"We would also like to say thank you for all of the well wishes and messages of support we have received at this extremely difficult time.

"As a family we are coming to terms with the accident, along with the life changing injuries that have been caused as a result of the incident.

"Harry is in critical care and in a stable condition."

Four others were hurt during the crash.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for anybody with CCTV or dashcam footage to get in touch.
