Woman rescued after fire in Tonbridge

A woman was rescued from her home by neighbours when a fire broke out.

Firefighters were called to the address in Peach Hall, Tonbridge, at 8pm on Saturday where the ground floor and first floor of the property were well alight.

Two pumps from Tonbridge, one from Southborough and a rescue ladder also from Tonbridge were called to the blaze which was tackled by crews wearing breathing apparatus.

The flames was finally put out at 11.04pm.

The cause of the fire is not yet known but it is not being treated as suspicious.
