Tonbridge have completed the signing of Paul Booth

Striker Paul Booth became Tonbridge’s third signing in a fortnight as the club underlined their determination to qualify for the Ryman League Premier Division promotion play-offs.

Manager Tommy Warrilow snapped up local boy Booth on a two-year contract on Thursday after an unnamed supporter provided the funding for him to tear up his contract with Havant and Waterlooville.

Booth is no stranger to Kent football having formerly played for Gravesend and Welling in addition to Lewes who sold him to Havant and Waterlooville for £7,500. He follows Steve Ferguson and Dwain Clarke into Longmead following two weeks of wheeling and dealing.

"To say I’m delighted to welcome a player of Paul’s calibre to the club is an understatement," said Warrilow. "He lives locally and what’s more he’s taken a big pay cut to come here."

Booth makes his debut tomorrow (Saturday) at home to Ashford Middlesex as Tonbridge look to maximise Saturday’s 3-0 win away to play-off rivals Carshalton which was followed by Tuesday’s 2-2 draw at second placed Staines.

Legge and Jamie Cade miss the match against Ashford through suspensions while Phil Starkey, Lewis Hamilton and Fraser Logan are all injury doubts.
