THE Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells & District Cricket Umpires & Scorers’ Association are running their next cricket umpires’ training course later this month.

Starting on Tuesday, January 17, the course is scheduled for a March 21 finish with weekly meetings at The Imperial Hotel, London Road, Southborough, Tunbridge Wells, starting at 7.30pm.

At the end of the course there will be an opportunity for candidates to sit one of the Association of Cricket Umpires’ examinations, the first step to becoming a fully qualified umpire.

The main object of the course is to improve umpiring standards at all levels of the game in Kent.
