TONBRIDGE Angels' relegation from the Ryman Premier Division was confirmed with a 1-0 defeat at Harrow Borough on Saturday.

The winning goal came against the run of play midway through the second half when Clinton Lamb converted a cross from the right.

It was harsh on Angels who had enjoyed the better of the match.

Player-manager Tony Dolby saw his shot tipped just wide of the post after 27 minutes and just two minutes later Leroy Huggins did well to turn his marker but his shot from just inside the penalty area came back off the upright.

Harrow also hit the woodwork in the first half.

Angels should have gone ahead on 55 minutes when Richard Brady was sent clear, but he took too long and allowed the keeper to close him down.

Two minutes later John Beales should have done better with a shot that went wide after a free kick from Dolby had been parried by the Harrow keeper.

Despite all their pressure, Angels couldn't find the vital breakthrough and they must now face up to life in Ryman Division 1.
