A FOUR-DAY course for girls is to be run by the Kent Cricket Board. It will be held at the Hayesbrook School in Brook Street, Tonbridge, on Saturdays, January 24 and 31, and February 7 and 14, 2pm-4pm.

The cost is £12. Anyone wanting further details and a course application form is asked to contact the Kent Cricket Board Development Office on 01227 456886, extension 202, or email Claire.gould.kent@ecb.co.uk

David Sear, Kent cricket development officer, said: “This new style course involves much more than pure cricket skills.

“There will be lots of activity which we call FUNdamentals - movement, co-ordination, and body awareness, as well as striking and fielding games.

“It’s all part of a new approach to the long term development of future cricketers. The emphasis is on fun.”

Girls may come with friends and it does not matter how experienced they are. Soft balls and Kwik Cricket equipment will be used.

Girls who show potential may be invited to join the Kent under-11 and under-13 squad coaching.
