Angels boss Tommy Warrilow could make a new signing by the weekend

Billericay v Tonbridge

Tonbridge manager Tommy Warrilow was attempting to bolster his promotion-chasing squad with a signing in time for Saturday's trip to Billericay.

He declined to give details and would only say: “I’m talking to a player and there’s a chance he could be available to play at Billericay.”

This time last year Tonbridge embarked on a 13-match unbeaten run and Warrilow would love a repeat to secure the club’s place among the Ryman League Premier Division play-off positions.

He said: “We’ve 15 games left and play all the top teams so if we could piece together a long unbeaten run, the timing would be perfect.”

He admits his side face an awkward match at Billericay who won 1-0 at fourth-placed Sutton at the weekend.

“In my time at Tonbridge, Billericay have never had a poor side,” said Warrilow.

“We’ve always had to battle hard to get anything there and Saturday will be no different.”

If Tonbridge are to get anything from the game, they must do so without central defender Leon Legge who will serve a one-match suspension.
