3 arrests after robbery attempt

THREE men have been arrested after an attempted robbery at a DIY store in Longfield Road, Tunbridge Wells at about 10.30pm last night.

Staff at the store were confronted by three men with their faces covered and carrying crowbars. It appears they had forced a door to get into the store.

The men threatened staff but left after failing get into the safe.

A suspicious vehicle had been seen in the area earlier in the evening, so police officers stopped a similar vehicle driving north on the A21.

The three men in it were then arrested just before midnight.

Today three men aged between 20 and 31, all from London, remain in police custody.
