A man has been arrested following a crash overnight.

The A21 Pembury Road was shut for London-bound traffic after a car crashed at around 10.20pm last night.

A police spokeswoman said: "Officers attended the scene on the Londonbound A21 near Pembury Road.

"The road was closed for carriageway repairs. A man was arrested in connection with the collision and released under investigation."

The crash happened near the junction with the A228 at Pembury.

Highways England tweeted shortly after 9am to say the London-bound carriageway had reopened.
