Two people have been arrested following reports of a scam involving a dead squirrel.

Kent Police has been investigating a number of reports of a man knocking on doors in Tunbridge Wells and offering unnecessary roof repairs.

On more than one occasion he is said to have inspected the roof of a property, before producing a dead squirrel and demanding money to clear a pest infestation.

Today officers arrested a 34-year-old man from the town on suspicion of fraud by false representation. He has been bailed pending further inquiries until July 5.

A 22-year-old woman, also from the town, was arrested on suspicion of fraud by false representation. She has been released, pending further investigation.
