A roll of carpet caused problems for motorists earlier today.

The A21 Pembury Bypass was left partially blocked when the material found its way onto the carriageway at around 9.40am.

It caused some delays to the A228 Road.

A Kent Police spokeswoman said: "Officers attended the scene, and removed the debris which had been causing an obstruction for motorists."

The update has clarified earlier reports of a crash on the road.

The road was clear by 10.15am.
