POLICE are appealing for information about a robbery at Broadwater Service Station in London Road, Tunbridge Wells, early this morning.

A member of staff investigating a noise at the back of the shop shortly after 7am was confronted by a man with a crowbar who forced his way inside.

The man threatened staff and demanded that they open the safe. He then took about £200 in cash before leaving on foot.

The man is described as white and aged between 28 and 30. He was wearing a high visibility yellow jacket, black scarf and gloves.

DS Steve Beardwell said: “At this time of the morning there would have been people walking towards the railway station who might have seen a man in or around the garage shop. If anyone does have any information I would ask them to contact us.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact West Kent Police on 01732 771055 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
