Drink driving charge after car hits tree

A MAN has been charged with drink driving after his car collided with a tree.

Colin Micallef, 53, of Bretland Road, Tunbridge Wells, was driving a silver Chrysler PT Cruiser when the incident occurred just after 11pm on Thursday.

He has been bailed to appear at Sevenoaks Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

The accident happened on the A262 Goudhurst to Lamberhurst road between Forstal Farm and a nearby airstrip.

Mr Micallef was taken to Kent and Sussex Hospital suffering from shock and was later arrested and charged.

There were no other vehicles involved.

The road was blocked for about 40 minutes as a result of the collision.
