Tunbridge Wells: Nevill Street closed due to falling debris

Part of a town has been cordoned off after debris fell from a building.

Police were unable to say what structure in Nevill Street, Tunbridge Wells, was affected but a spokesman said it appeared to be a commercial property.

Officers were called just before 1pm and firefighters also went along.

The pavement has been shut off while an investigation of the building is carried out.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "KFRS was called to Nevill Street, Tunbridge Wells at 2.37pm today to assist Kent Police.

"One fire engine attended and the crew left the scene at 3.03pm."
