A father-of-two killed himself after taking a lethal cocktail of alcohol and prescription drugs, an inquest heard this week.

Joshua Taylor, 45, of Molyneux Park Road, Tunbridge Wells, was found dead in his flat on March 27 by his estranged wife and teenage daughter.

The coroner was told Mr Taylor had struggled with depression and had threatened to take his own life on previous occasions. He had given his son a watch and said: “Remember, I will always love you.”

Dr Phillip Anderson had been treating Mr Taylor for depression. He said: “He told me he had lost the business he had worked for and lost his family.”

Dr Anderson said Mr Taylor was not sectioned under the mental health act because specialists had not thought it would be productive to his treatment.

Coroner Roger Hatch said: “In regards to the evidence I’ve heard, I’ve no other opinion than to conclude that the death of Josh Taylor was due to an overdose.”
