A cafe in Tunbridge Wells designed to help the community with its mental health is looking forward to its first anniversary.

The Kitchen Table, which is owned and run by the mental health charity Crossways Community, at 19 Camden Road, opened in February last year.

The aim of the cafe is not only to provide great breakfasts, coffee and cake at sensible prices, but also to provide a place open to everyone where those who are on the edges of the community or who feel mentally unwell can find a welcome and a listening ear.

Chris Munday, Crossways' chief executive, said: "In its first months of operation the team there have had a number of significant conversations with people about their mental health and have been able to listen to them, provide advice and signpost them to other suitable resources."

The cafe is open from 8am to 4pm, Tuesdays to Saturdays (closed Sunday and Monday).
