A man in his 40s has been found dead in a Tunbridge Wells road.

An investigation is under way after police were called to Tunnel Road at 11.30pm yesterday.

Officers are treating the death as unexplained and have not yet formally identified the body.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service sent one fire engine to the scene at midnight and they remained on site until 1.30am.

A police spokesman said enquiries are ongoing.
