POLICE officers who were called to a street fight in Tunbridge Wells found a local man had suffered severe head injuries.

The man, who has not been named, was taken to the town's Kent and Sussex Hospital where he has been detained for treatment. His condition has been described by police as "serious".

Police say the fight took place at Longview Way, off Liptraps Lane shortly before 10pm on Sunday. Four men have been arrested and are assisting police with their inquiries into the incident.
