Motorcyclist dies after smash with van

A motorcylist has died near Tunbridge Wells.

Police were called to the the B2169 near Hook Green, Tunbridge Wells, at 11.55am on Sunday where a black Yamaha motorcycle had collided with a white Vauxhall panel van.

The rider of the motorcycle, a man from the Biggin Hill area, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the van suffered minor injuries.

The road was closed at the junction with Furnace Lane and Clayhill Road and Bayham Road while emergency services attended the incident. The road was re-opened around 5pm.

Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit would like to hear from any witnesses on 01622 798538.

The man's family have been informed and the coroner’s officer advised.
