Elderly man trapped under car in Fordcombe, near Tunbridge Wells

A pensioner has been rescued after becoming trapped under a car following a parking accident.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were called to The Drive, Fordcombe, at around 11.15pm yesterday.

Crews used hydraulic equipment to stabilise the vehicle, before using a winch to lift it.

The man, aged in his 70s, was given oxygen and passed to the care of ambulance teams.

He was then taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.

Emergency crews left the scene just after 1am.

It is not yet known how the man became trapped.
