Forget the familiar story of firefighters rescuing cats stuck up trees, this weekend crews were called out to help a moggy wedged fast in a wall.

Turbo used one of his nine lives yesterday night , after getting stuck in a tight gap in freezing conditions.

Firefighters were called to Middle Walk, Tunbridge Wells just before 10pm and found the moggy trapped between two garages.

With the permission of the neighbour, they used small tools to carefully cut into the brickwork of the garage and gently lifted the animal to safety.

A Kent Fire and Rescue service spokesman said: "He appeared to be 'feline' fine but was covered in dust."
