Traffic management systems have been put in place after a piece of a Tunbridge Wells road collapsed.

Temporary two-way traffic lights are in operation on Harland Way, Southborough after what appears to be a sinkhole appeared just near the A26, London Road.

The area has been cordoned off and Kent Highway teams are working to determine the cause.

The road is closed because of a gas leak.

A spokesman said investigations are ongoing to investigate the necessary requirements for urgent repairs as the collapse has damaged adjacent drainage infrastructure."

Highways will be returning on Wednesday in order to complete repairs.

The temporary lights caused long delays for motorists in the area this morning.
